Water Jetting Association

The WJA formally known as the Association of High Pressure Water Jetting Contractors (AHPWJC) was formed over 30 years ago by a small group of like minded Hydrodemolition Contractors, Manufacturers and Hirers all committed to raising Safety Standards within the emerging Industry of High Pressure Water Jetting.

These initial Aims & Objectives still ring true today – the first Code of Practice (CoP) was published in 1982 – and over the next 30 years the CoP has been subject to 5 re-writes – finally in 2002 becoming the A4 Blue Code of Practice that we have today and which has been subject to a further major re-write (2012).

This has all evolved through the WJA Technical Committee with the valued assistance of the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and is now recognised as the only true reference for the High Pressure Water Jetting Industry.

CHAS

CHAS is established as the market leader for health and safety pre-qualification in the UK. It is available to suppliers (those who provide goods and services) and to organisations (buyers) looking for suitably competent suppliers.

CHAS isn’t just for construction companies, it assesses health and safety for all types of suppliers, from care services to demolition contractors, designers and consultants. The aim of the scheme is to save time and resources by avoiding unnecessary duplication in the first stage of competence assessment; the CDM Core criteria.

CSCS

CSCS is the leading skills certification scheme within the UK construction industry. CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the required training and qualifications for the type of work they carry out.

The Scheme keeps a database of people working in construction who have achieved, or are committed to achieving a recognised construction related qualification. Most principal contractors and major house builders require construction workers on their sites to hold a valid CSCS card.

CSCS is a not-for-profit limited company. Its directors are from employer organisations and unions representing the breadth of the industry. The Scheme’s application processing and contact centre is delivered under contract by CITB.

RISQS

The ‘Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme’ (RISQS) has been developed from the GB rail industry’s Link-up scheme to provide a fair, open and transparent third party qualification process, with the aim of becoming the preferred route for suppliers to engage with their customers, in an efficient and effective manner.

Constructionline

At the heart of what we do is our national online database, the UK’s largest register for pre-qualified contractors and consultants. In terms of efficiency, time and cost saving and best practice, Constructionline is proven to deliver for public and private sector organisations alike.

For suppliers to the construction industry, Constructionline means that you no longer need to repeatedly fill in standard pre-qualification forms for every construction tender. What’s more, with 8,000 buyers already using the Constructionline database to source contractors and consultants, Constructionline is a great tool to market your organisation.

By providing an up-to-date register of pre-qualified suppliers for construction contracts, Constructionline is a common sense solution that 8,000 buyers from over 2,000 organisations are already making the most of. We pre-qualify all of our suppliers to government standards, and maintain relationships with a range of industry, ePurchasing and Government partners to ensure that we remain relevant to procurement professionals within the construction industry.
